Haruna Mitsuki is the most unique spirit in My Spiritual Alliance, being the only Artificial Spirit in the series. She embodies what happens when humans attempt to develop a new level of existence as she loves leaning toward death, however never fully committing to life nor death.

Haruna presents herself as a proud, blunt and uncompromising girl who often defaults to criticism and physical reprimand when faced with chaos or incompetence. She has a strong belief in order and discipline preventing instability in both herself and others. Her sharp, no-nonsense attitude serves as armour particularly in environments where spirits are expected to conform neatly toward systems designed by humans.

Beneath that harsh exterior lies a deeply principled and quietly compassionate core. Haruna cares far more than she'll ever admit and expresses care through actions, denial, "monitoring" others, enforcing rules and intervening when situations get out of control. Her frustration toward Akari's unserious behaviour, for example; stems not from jealousy or distain but from fear. Fear of what unchecked power, inefficiency or recklessness can lead to. She scolds because she notices and decides to intervene because she understands the stakes.

A major drive for Haruna is her Artificial Spirit existence. She's intensely self-aware of being "engineered" rather than naturally created and refuses to be pitied or treated lesser because of it. This manifests ambition, competitiveness and a relentless desire to prove she exists through results. Haruna pushes herself harder than anyone else, holding herself to rigid standards and reacting strongly to failure. She also has all the knowledge of how to operate her synthetic Cursed Energy which makes her incredibly fast on her feet, being able to analyse her methods in real time while also taking into account that unlike natural spirits; who are cursed energy without flesh, bones or other human anatomical element; she still retains her human anatomy even in her "spirit" form which she has never deployed as of yet.

Despite her tsundere tendencies, Haruna functions as one of the group's stabilising anchors. She's pragmatic when others are idealistic, grounded when others drift and brutally honest when reality needs to be acknowledged. Haruna is a guardian disguised as a critic: someone who stands between chaos and collapse even if it means being disliked for it and ultimately is the embodiment of a being who should never exist but somehow does.

Haruna has her aging naturally slowed down by about 41% by how SMC designed the synthetic CE that flows through her body, this means she has been alobe for ~27 years however retains the physical appearance of a 16 year old teenager.

Haruna's powers have been developed to counter Akari as precisely as possible hence some of her powers are similar and she has a tri-phase ability set.

This allows Haruna to be able to channel compressed synthetic cursed energy into short blasts that are capable of piercing through a spirit's metaphysical state in close combat however in return this technique does consume her cursed resonance by a considerable amount. This ability is also capable of clean nullification at 2.1x opposing spirit's CE however it causes her excessive strain.

This ability allows Haruna to lock a spirit into their physical state for up to 5 minutes via line of sight and intent, this ability can cause backlash to the spirit if resisted and also strains Haruna's nerves with overuse resulting in migraines or nose bleeds.

This is a passive ability of Haruna's that allows her to be able to have an arms length field that automatically stabilizes CE however overuse gives Haruna fatigue.

Haruna has had some past events that she will never mention but affects her deeply inside.

At some point during her early time at Einka a student discovered she was an Artificial Spirit and announced it loudly in front of the class expecting it to be devastating. Haruna looked at them for exactly two seconds, said "yes, and?" and went back to her notes. The student was more embarrassed than she was. She has never once been visibly wounded by her artificial nature in public, which is precisely how deeply it actually affects her privately.

Haruna held the Advanced Arena Clearance solo non-lethal record at 6:31 before Taichi Kurosawa beat it by seven seconds. She has not spoken about this directly. However her training sessions immediately following that result were documented as "unusually prolonged" by three separate faculty members. She increased her personal best to 6:18 in private and has told nobody.

A first year spirit was completely destabilising in the corridor, CE leaking uncontrolled, clearly terrified and overwhelmed. Haruna walked past, stopped, turned around, and spent forty minutes stabilising them using her CE Stabilisation ability while loudly complaining the entire time about irresponsible spirits who couldn't regulate themselves in public. She left before the student could properly thank her. She told no one. Eizo witnessed it from the end of the corridor and has never brought it up because he instinctively understood that bringing it up would be the wrong move.

Haruna won Einka's Got Talent in the Musical category for singing, dancing and rap. She prepared for three weeks in private, told nobody she was entering, performed flawlessly, accepted the award with a single nod, and walked off stage. When Eizo asked her afterward why she'd never mentioned she could do all of that she said "you never asked" and ended the conversation. The performance is still talked about. She acts like it isn't.

Haruna takes inspiration from many characters from other series's who help form her iconic personality just filtered through her sharp stares.

Haruna mirrors Misakai's moral spine, not just her temper.

Haruna takes the relentless drive to prove her worth through effort rather than sympathy and deep resentment toward systems that measure value unfairly.

Eizo takes on multiple elements of Izuku Midoriya such as being; earnest, self-doubting and morally grounded. He mirrors early Deku's self doubt and overwhelm but still stepping forward regardless, he worries about being inadequate before danger.

Haruna takes her pride and insecurity as well as her quick snapping but even quicker silent care.

Haruna takes her brutally honest dialogue, no patience for nonsense and her attitude of treating chaos with brute force rather than fear.

Haruna takes her pride rooted in fear and aggression as emotional armour however Haruna is more emotionally regulated.
