Characters Akari Nakamura

Akari Nakamura is one of the oldest spirits but also the most unique in My Spiritual Alliance and also the most powerful spirit in the whole series. She is known for her questionable behaviours and her dedication toward being chaotic. Despite all this, her heart remains in its purest form, meaning she holds no grudges and all her actions are carried out with sincerity. She also has the highest kill count of any character, reaching over 613,820 kills over the span of her spirit existence; however, her accurate kill count is unknown to this day.

Akari is a living contradiction, a being who lives between innocence and danger but never one at a time. At first glance she appears as a playful, flirtatious and theatrically charming girl; speaking in archaic tones, sparkles at attention and treats everyday integrations like performances aimed at both herself and others around her. She enjoys being the centre of attention whether teasing Eizo, drowning in classroom praise or deliberately leaning into provocative or excessively playful theatrics.

Akari isn't naïve, beneath her playful acts lies a hyper self-aware mind that constantly runs in all 6 intelligence domains simulaniously. She instinctively knows when to act adorable, innocent, seductive and when to quietly assert dominance. She uses seduction as both misdirection and as one of her tactics used to twist situations toward her favour by abusing subtle suggestion and rarely going into explicit lines. Even in her chotic "gremlining" such as ignoring rules, phasing through things, poking at people's nerves it's a result of centuries of being feared as a result she chose corruption to be her declaration of freedom.

Emotionally, Akari is shaped by profound loneliness and arrested growth. She is 417 years old, yet parts of her psyche remain frozen at the age she died. This is why her behavior oscillates between childlike enthusiasm (plushies, snacks, dramatic sulking) and unsettling maturity (seduction, fatal calmness in combat, existential reflection). She craves connection but fears stagnation; she wants to be adored yet not owned. This tension explains her fixation on bonds—particularly her curiosity toward Eizo (Eizo Kidaragi)—not merely as romance, but as a question of balance: Is he a companion, an anchor, or a future liability?

Akari is shaped by extended loneliness and arrested growth, her psyche frozen at the age she died at despite her true age being 417 years old. Hence why her behaviour switched between childlike theatrics (plushies, snacks, dramatic sulking) to unsettling maturity (seduction, fatal calmness in combat, existential reflection), she seeks connection but fears stagnation and judges based on bond longevity rather than emotion - particularly her curiosity toward Eizo Kisaragi.

Deep beneath her twisted contradictions, she retails the purest heart of any spirit in My Spiritual Alliance. She is capable of showing gentle sincerity to those who treat her with kindness and respect such as Grandma Tomiyo (Tomiyo Kisaragi) and avoids unnecessary cruelty when given the choice. Her instability lies between her constant war of internal balance between her emotions and memories which results in a princess who never stops performing, a spirit who never learned true serenity.

Akari is also an anomaly in the world of spirits as she's the first spirit to have a fragmented existence. This is studied to be a 1 in a trillionth possibility where a being who has died by more than one injury would have their soul shatter instead of converge into CE normally. This has been found to mean that such a spirit would be able to have multiple versions of themself while not being able to control them as they would never tether together. However, through research SMC has found that these types of spirits would be more volatile but also more unstable than a conventional spirit, while being far more inefficient with power output due to poor Cursed Resonance management. Additionally, they are also researched to be unsynchronised, hence their near-impossible existence. (This was researched as a concept form of Haruna Mitsuki)

However Akari defies this logic by being "unnaturally" efficient and synchronised. This is due to her breaking every observation of SMC for fragmented spirits due to her 7 fragments being tethered together upon becoming a spirit, however with the unanticipated difference that they ended up in different timelines due to a micro fluctuation when each fragment tethered to her. Due to this, her dolls each have their own consciousness and can function and sustain themselves autonomously. Additionally these dolls are also capable of acting exactly like Akari and flawlessly due to her uniquely being tethered to one Cursed Energy equilibrium, meaning her dolls all use the same core tethering to dimension -12 (CE Abyss).

The majority of Akari's 614,000+ kill count equates to her feeding off sinned souls. Though her requirement is a soul, she chooses sinned souls because they sustain her for longer due to the more sinned a soul is, it has denser SoulMist which digests into her denser CE cleaner hence allowing her to maintain her 95% conversion rate for her powers. However this is not the complete story, there are instances where she has had to kill more than her general average and sometimes her Cursed Resonance capacity altogether as shown by the SMC exorcism 1852 incident which had gotten her up to 587.5% Cursed Resonance which is far above her capacity and would've realistically lasted her at least a few months.

Akari's vessel is aged 15 while her true age is 417 years old, however even this is not what it should be. SMC had halted her aging when she was 167 in spirit years. this had been done to keep her at a vulnerable position where she would still be able to be manipulated and misdirected into their operations which had resulted in her being far off from her original aging which is kept unknown to the public. This is done via an invisible synthetic Cursed Energy limiter being placed around her human form which keeps her at 15 years in physical age regardless of her spirit age. However this is all not pressive, she is able to break through it however only with a certain strength of bonding with a human (love interest). This would, make her stable enough to not be heavily destabilised to the sudden exposure to re-aging.

Unusual Tendencies:

There are very few caught tendencies of Akari, however when she is with Grandma Tomiyo or anyone she holds dear to her heart she becomes sincerer and also has the tendency to be overly clingy. In such state she may use her unbounded CE construct vessel and practically become a pancake in a tight embrace of her dear one.

Dietary Requirements:

Another quirk of Akari/Aria is that since birth she was unable to consume any physical food or drink that was impure or processed. This was due to her not containing the necessary requirements as a human to be able to digest such foods and drinks, and even more so as a spirit she can only convert sinned soul mist into Cursed Energy. Her vessel is still unable to digest processed or impure meals. If she does end up accidentally consuming something impure or processed, then her body will reject it, which ends up in her becoming sick.

Kim Aria is the human child self of Akari Nakamura, a brief yet unexplained depiction of Akari's purity. Her appearance is a testament to the Akari we could've had if she had not been stripped away by society, expectations and fear. Even in this form Akari has shown understanding far beyond her age, she had already understanded the cycle of death and spirit regeneration in a way that both shocked and horrified others around her, including her parents. Her Execution did not erase her innocence however it has fractured her soul which created the foundation of her spiritual duality.
Her child self is an everlasting internal presence that Akari subconsciously revisits in moments of vulnerability, reflection and emotional conflict. It remains intricately tied to her doll, her restraints and her capacity for sincerity despite her overwhelming power.

Akari is one of the most powerful spirits within My Spiritual Alliance which is further emphasised with her powers. She has the original Cursed Energy flowing within her which makes her even more unique compared to other spirits but also means that she naturally has a higher power containment than other spirits too. She is also the only spirit in the core cast that posess the highest amount of phases in her power set (Quad-phase).

This ability allows Akari to channel her own cursed energy into any part of her body and create a blast that attacks in metaphysicality rather than physicality. this power alone is capable of causing large shockwaves but consumed a lot of her cursed resonance hence why she uses it in controlled blasts when necessary.

Akari is able to teleport with an average teleportation time of 0.1015s which also does consume her Cursed Resonance but not as much as Cursed Energy blasts.

Akari keeps a small doll of her past self which has 7 glass shards all representing her broken state. Once one shard is crushed on the ground it births a 100% conscious doll which she can control but it also has the capability to function on it's own and sustain itself. Akari can create up to 7 at one time.

Akari's Ill-fated eye is a cursed eye that allows her to cause ill fate toward anyone who looks at it under any form. which is it's current publicly known ability. the effects of it's ill fate could be anything such as; power failure, strategy misinterpretation, loss of beloved people or things and more.

With her predictive future dimension Akari is able to see multiple possible outcomes of situations in real time through her normal eye however this doesn't guarantee she'll guess correctly every time (she also uses this to counter her ill-fated eye's 75% less normal sight).
Her Recorded past dimension read through her ill fated eye which allows her to see every moment in recorded history which can be used at will unlike her predictive future dimension.
Additionally she is the only spirit able to access negative dimensions natively, she used dimension -3 when feeding for a faction of the time she spends in the bite, this allows her to collapse the identity of matter in reality which included SoulMist to allow her to consume it and convert it into Cursed Energy inside her.

Due to Akari's natural dimensional bleeding effects (more noticable in spirit form), SMC have documented that she may be able to manipulate dimensions in ways that are unprecidented by their infrastructure. This explains why she is far harder to detect than any other spirit. However, the abilities of her quoted manipulation have been securely vaulted by SMC.

Her known enhancements with dimensional bleeding are that she is able to practically drag and drop any object, person or scene from her recorded past dimension into the present. SMC have published very few research files to the public in regards to this enhancement of hers however some speculate that it may be far too... amature for someone of her advancement.

In the past Akari has had may instances where she had to take measures into her own hands for her safety or to test limits of SMC's governing.

In 1621, Akari was out for her nightly feeding however she had no idea she would meet a victim who would make her hesitate not by the pain of having to consume a soul for her sustenance (which she felt during her early spirit years) but because she didn't know what to do. The victim had identified her as Princess Kim Aria rather than a spirit, they had kneeled before her offering their soul to her willingly with nothing but pure devotion in their eyes toward her. It caused her to freeze in her tracks in a way she had never expected and as a result she let the victim live and removed herself from that area immediately.

On the night of 13th May 1644 Princess Kim Aria was 36 years of age in spirit years yet physically 8 years old. In an externalised SMC venue she was crowned among SMC professionals, the prime-minister at the time, Tomiyo Kisaragi and her parents. The crown was a modernised version of the original crown, modified by Tomiyo Kisaragi for Akari to represent her spirit existence while displaying her link the the royal legacy. Though it was not all happy as this night was also the night of Aria's parent's passing making this memory even more bitter to her.

On the 10th of October 1652, the devastating moment of Queen Kim Aria being lured into changing her name. This was the moment where Aria began to understand the maliciousness of SMC while not showing them that she's unwinding their twisted lines. Unfortunately to SMC, they continued to assume she remained the innocent little child they can manipulate while Aria kept tabs of their actions in her mind. She played along with their game by allowing herself to be lured with chocolate into changing her name and hence on 13th October 1652 Kim Aria as an identity was erased by SMC and kept confidential in near impossibly accessible files only accessible by the prime-minister and out arises her new identity as Akari Nakamura without her queenly authority as they declared Queen Kim Aria exorcised "under instability".

In 1852, SMC had set out an army of SMC Exorcists to eliminate Akari in an attempt to keep her from ever regaining her status as the Princess of Einka and secure their power over the country. This project was initiated by Hakura Kisaragi and took place in an empty street of Old Einka to preserve residence. this took place at midnight where Akari was faced with an ambushing of the Exorcists. As a response Akari had strategically not used her dolls unless completely necessary, she was able to out-starategise Hakura's plans and all 2,350 exorcists were killed.

In 2008 Akari was out for her nightly feeding however something she'd never expected had happened. She had consumed a victim's soul but the moment she turned to leave she had been spotted by their family members who had been searching for him. She froze for a second before she figured if they had been left alive then she may face another exorcism attempt. to remove that possibility she had consumed the souls of his wife and parents.

In the summer of 2011, Akari submitted herself to be cast in a revolutionary girl group that would be named Mirage. During trials she performed "Glass Crown" by the popular girl band OPAL. She performed so well that it was unsettling but also inspiring with her unique vocal range. This led her to be selected and further met the members in summer of 2012. Then in summer 2013 she debuted alongside Yuna Shirasagi, Ren Asakura, Rei Asano and Haru Nanase with their debut single "MIRAGE", where their revolutionary dark and mysterious theme became instantly distinctive and often criticised for being "too edgy" in the industry. Despite the challenges, the group had grown significantly in record time; however, in 2019 Akari silently slipped away after gaining everything she thought there was in the space and ended up getting bored of it, leaving fans questioning why she left but never answered.

Akari draws inspiration from multiple series'. Each influencing a elements of her personality, design and performance.

Akari uses Kurumi Tokisaki as her base but strips her down to her core elements, filtering them through royal restraint and emotional intelligence.

Akari takes Yumeko's performative dominance bur replaces gambling with souls, Cursed Energy and control.

Akari mirrors Esdeath's calm cruelty but with a more quieter danger level charged by phycological methods.

Akari would be if Ai Enma enjoyed being alive instead of resigning herself to fate.

Akari shared Homura's ancient exhaustion however channels it through flirtation and mischief rather than despair.

Akari is a tooned down, more dignified version but with more calculated allure.
