Introduction
Fuel: AP-S Internal combustion engine (ICE) Extreme Low-end Hypercar
The 2025 Sapphire Mesosphere is a Low-end Hypercar designed by the first Sapphire Automotive, the Nova Lp model is the most extreme Mesosphere ever made. It's a car that commands air rather than glides through and is known in the industry for being the "megacar killer". This is due to it's understated looks covering it's ability to handle higher speed through corners and intense aero efficiency.
Intelligent Active Aerodynamics
The Mesosphere features the most advanced aerodynamic solution ever put in a car. It uses 5 nodes that are placed in the configuration of 2 on the nose and 3 in the wing.
In the nose there are 2 flaps which are fed by a front diffuser. These flaps are responsible for letting out compressed air from the front diffuser over the windshield, but also can adapt to cornering by closing or limiting either side's pressure. At the rear there's a 3 element rear wing where the central element is only focused on the DRS system named (Overtake mode). The outer 2 sections are active too but carry more functionality by being able to actively adapt their angle of attack to ensure the car stays flat through corners.
Overtake mode alters the whole system rather than just the specialised central wing element. The driver can engage it whenever they want via a button on the steering wheel. Once engaged, the central element of the rear wing goes into a slight positive angle while the 2 outer sections remain negative but at a much lower angle. At the front the flaps enter a low drag mode where they are both minimally open. Additionally, in the event of cornering in overtake mode, the active cornering features are also still active to ensure the driver does not lose control.
